On the Undercliff

Juliet and Paul walk along the Undercliff to Saltdean with Cate and her friends. They see the sun set — 9th February 2003

While we were walking along the Undercliff, the sun dropped out of the clouds and put on this amazing display. I had to wait ages to get the surf breaking on the left, though

Believe it or not, there are a lot of seabirds in this picture. Look carefully.

DSC07198 As we arrived in Saltdean, we met Ewan (Euan? sp?) who had just got up. Apparently, they did a lot of drinking last night.... DSC07193
Meanwhile, the sun just got more and more dramatic DSC07199

Gary went off to meditate

And I finally got a seabird that is visible in this view back towards Brighton. Brighton itself is behind the cliff. The buildings on the extreme left are Worthing, and the hill behind is the site of Cissbury Ring

Juliet posed prettily with the setting sun, and for once I managed to get the horizon horizontal...

...so then everyone wanted to pose with him

DSC07217 I do adore these colours. They aren't real, of course, they are just the best the camera can do... and I forgot to keep the camera level... DSC07215

And this is the type of picture that makes all the waiting about worth it.

For me, at least

Can you believe they left me to the sunset to go and make tea. So I had to run off to the house for champagne
